LoJack® System Helps Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Toyota Sequoia

The owner of a Toyota Sequoia contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Winchester.
The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.
Within 10 minutes deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to the 32000 block of Riverside Drive in the city of Lake Elsinore. A traffic stop was made; two suspects were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
The Toyota had previously been reported stolen in 2004 and 2009 with the San Diego Police Department and both times tracked and recovered with the LoJack Vehicle Recovery System.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Sequoia on January 2003 at Mossy Toyota in San Diego, California.
