The owner of a 2003 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Mission Viejo.

The Orange County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Within 31 minutes deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Cadillac to the area of Butterfield Road in the city of Temecula.  One suspect was seen in the Cadillac; he was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in September 2003 at Allen Cadillac in Laguna Niguel, California.
