The owner of a 2009 Toyota Sienna contacted the La Mesa Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of La Mesa.

The La Mesa PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

At a later time officers from the National City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the 2400 block of East Plaza Blvd in National City.  A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Sienna in August 2008 at Toyota Place in Garden Grove, California.
