The owner of 2016 MultiQuip Generator Trailer construction equipment contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report that his machine was stolen from a construction yard in the city of Oceanside.

The Oceanside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the MultiQuip.

A short while later, deputies from the San Diego County Sherriff’s Department Air Unit (ASTREA) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen MultiQuip with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the machine to a garage in a residential area near Mira Pacific and Balboa Street in the city of Oceanside. Investigators from the San Diego County Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) were contacted and responded to the area to surveil the garage.  A short while later two suspects arrived, opened the garage and towed the stolen MultiQuip construction equipment with a van that was located in the driveway.  A traffic stop was made and two suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
