The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the unincorporated area of Riverside.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 24 minutes deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to East Bound Route 78 north of Las Posas road in the city of San Marcos. A traffic stop was made and two suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in April 2001 at Simon Motors Cadillac Buick in La Quinta, California.
