The owner of a 2006 Ford F350 contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Moreno Valley.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 7 minutes, officers from the Hemet Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of Cawston and Menlo Street in the city of Hemet. A traffic stop was initiated; two suspects were taken into custody, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F350 in January 2006 at Hemet Ford Inc. in Norco, California.
