The owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Walnut.

The Los Angeles County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Within 7 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Chevrolet to Sepulveda and Juan Diaz Ave in Jurupa Valley.  One suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in February 2006 at Rally Auto Group in Palmdale, California.
