The owner of a Ford F-350 Series contacted the Riverside County Sherriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in Perris.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 6 minutes deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford to a commercial area of Perris.  Due to the recent high theft of Ford F-250 and F-350’s in the area, the Riverside County Auto Theft Interdiction Detail (RAID) responded and took over the investigation.  At a later time the Ford was followed to the area of Tyler and Highland in Perris.  Three suspects were detained, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-350 in May 2004 at Fairway Ford in Placentia, California.
