The owners of a 2015 John Deere 644K contacted the Buena Park Police Department to report their construction equipment was stolen.

The Buena Park PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the John Deere.

Only nine minutes later several police agencies, including deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Century station, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen John Deere with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the John Deere to a parking lot in Los Angeles County. The deputies found the John Deere abandoned and intact. It was later returned to its owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the John Deere 644K in July 2015 by Commercial Sales.
