The owners of a 2007 Toyota Rav4 Sport contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen after a carjacking from their driveway in their residence in the city of Chula Vista.

The Chula Vista PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 7 minutes, officers from the Chula Vista PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to a residential neighborhood located in the 1900 block of Mount Bullion in Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Rav4 Sport in June 2007 at Toyota of San Diego in California.
