The owners of a 2005 Mercedes C-240 contacted the Gwinnett County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway during the night.
The Gwinnett County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes. A short while later officers from the Gwinnett County PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to a vacant house where the officer spotted the stolen Mercedes parked with no one around it.
A Gwinnett County PD detective was called to the scene for prints and possible arrest.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Mercedes C-240 in December 2006 at Keyes European Mercedes in Van Nuys, California.
