LoJack® System Helps San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Toyota Tundra

The owner of a 2002 Toyota Tundra contacted the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office to report that his vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects. He also informed the deputies that he had left four legally owned weapons, one shot gun and three hand guns in the truck. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short time later deputies from the SBSO Rancho Cucamonga station and Ontario Police Department Air-30 flight officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, Air-30 flight officers quickly tracked and located the Toyota east of Victoria Groves Park at Fairmont Ave and Victoria. No suspects were located but all firearms were recovered and returned to owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tundra in March 2002 at Claremont Toyota California.
