The owner of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.
The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Officers from the Las Vegas Metro PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to a residential area. Officers requested the assistance of Viper Detectives who arrived on scene with a LoJack Hand Held Tracker. Detectives determined the Chevrolet was concealed in an enclosed garage to which the property owner said was no longer occupied by a tenant. The Chevrolet was recovered and subsequently towed from the scene for safekeeping.
