The owners of a 2012 Volkswagen Passat contacted the Sacramento Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim indicated they started their Volkswagen and went back inside to get a couple items and when they came back out the vehicle was missing.

The Sacramento PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

Just 5 minutes later officers from the Sacramento PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Volkswagen to the area of the 3500 block of 5th Street in S. Sacramento. The officers observed the Volkswagen parked abandoned on the street.

The victim was contacted and responded to take possession of her Volkswagen.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen Passat in February 2016 at Roseville Toyota in California.
