The owner of a 2009 Scion XB contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen while parked in the city of Santee.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

Within nine minutes, deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Scion to a residential neighborhood located at Princess Sarit Way in the city of Santee.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion XB in May 2009 at Bob Baker Toyota in Lemon Grove, California.
