The owner of a 2008 Subaru Outback Sport contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen while parked in the city of Encinitas.
The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

Within eighteen minutes, deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Subaru to a residential neighborhood located in the 1800 block of Summer Song Court in the city of Encinitas.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Outback in September 2008 at Stevens Creek Auto Imports in San Jose, California.
