The owners of a 2013 Magnum Light Tower contacted the Escondido Police Department to report that their commercial equipment was stolen from a construction site in the city of Escondido.

The Escondido PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Magnum.

A short while later, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Magnum with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the equipment to a commercial area located on the 300 block of Pico Ave. in the city of San Marcos.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Magnum Light Tower in September 2013 as a Commercial Installation in Anaheim, California.
