The owners of a 2016 Lincoln MKZ contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lincoln.

Only 14 minutes later deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Pico Rivera picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lincoln with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Lincoln to a hotel in the city of Pico Rivera. The deputies found the undamaged Lincoln parked and abandoned. The deputies contacted the owner to return the Lincoln. This Lincoln was found in a short period of time before the suspect(s) could damage or remove parts from the Lincoln.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lincoln MKZ in September 2016 at Galpin Jaguar Lincoln Volvo in Van Nuys, California.
