The owner of a Ford F-250 contacted the Riverside County Sherriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in Moreno Valley.

The Riverside Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 14 minutes deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford to the area of Moreno Valley. Due to the recent high theft of Ford F-250 and F-350’s in the area, the Riverside County Auto Theft Interdiction Detail (RAID) responded and took over the investigation. At a later time the Ford was followed to the area of Valley Way and 37th Street in Jurupa Valley. Two suspects were detained, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-250 in March 2004 at Galpin Ford in North Hills, California.
