The owner of this Case Backhoe contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their equipment had been stolen from a jobsite during the night. The Fresno PD verified the theft and entered the equipment information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Case Backhoe.

About 90 minutes later, a deputy with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Case Backhoe with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputy tracked the equipment to the vicinity of Spruce and Sandrini avenues in northwest Fresno. The deputy found the Backhoe abandoned on the side of the road; it was recovered intact and undamaged. The owner was contacted and responded to the scene to pick up his equipment.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Case Backhoe by LoJack Commercial Sales in March 2006.
