The owner of a Honda Civic contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Moreno Valley.
The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, officers from the Hemet Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of State Street and Fruitvale Blvd. in the city of Hemet. A traffic stop was initiated; one suspect was taken into custody, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in July 1999 at Honda of Thousand Oaks in California.
