The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Unified Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Short time later troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.
Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Honda to a parking lot at an apartment complex in Murray near the 4900 block of Murray Boulevard. There the stolen Honda was recovered abandoned and returned to the relieved and grateful owners of the vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in May 2000 at AutoNation Honda of Fremont in California.
