The owner of a Honda contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen while parked in the 1300 block of Cape wood Lane in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 8 minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to a residential neighborhood located in the1300 block of Vince way in San Diego. A traffic stop was made; two suspects were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda in April 1997 at Pacific Honda in San Diego, California.
