The owners of a 2015 Honda Accord contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department East Los Angeles area to report that their vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later officers from the Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Accord with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the 900 block of Lorena St. and located the vehicle parked and unoccupied. After a short surveillance, the officers secured the Honda Accord and recovered it. The only damage sustained was a broken ignition. The Honda was stored for safe keeping and later released to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in February 2015 at Downtown Honda in Los Angeles, California.
