The owners of a Subaru Impreza contacted the Aurora Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence during the night-time.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

A short while later officers with the Denver Police Department District Five picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Impreza with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers quickly tracked and located the unoccupied Subaru in the 4800 block of Blackhawk Way.  A surveillance of the Subaru was initiated to determine if the suspect(s) would return.  After a period of time when the suspects had not returned to the Subaru it was towed to be returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Impreza in California 14-years earlier at the request of a previous owner of the car by Subaru of Santa Monic in California.
