The owner of a 2006 Ford Expedition contacted the Anaheim Police Department to report her vehicle was stolen. The owner told the police her Ford was taken by a family member through force/fear.
The Anaheim PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford. The Ford was entered into the system as a carjacked vehicle.

Only five minutes later the Anaheim PD airship Angel picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, airship Angel tracked the Ford into the city of Garden Grove. The Garden Grove Police Department officers, along with Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies, stopped the Ford in the area of Hazard and Magnolia and it was being driven by the named suspect. The Anaheim PD officer that handled the initial stolen report responded to the location. The officer interviewed the suspect and he admitted to taking the Ford. The suspect was arrested and the Ford was recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Expedition in March 2008 by Direct Sales.
