The owner of a 2010 Toyota Corolla contacted the Palm Springs Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen after his keys and other belongings were taken from his locker in the gym in the city of Palm Springs.
The Palm Springs PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 17 minutes, officers from the Palm Springs PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to a residential neighborhood located in the 4000 block of Calle De Carlo in Palm Springs.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in February 2011 at Toyota of the Desert in Cathedral City, California.
