The owners of a 2004 Nissan Altima contacted the Ontario Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Ontario PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short time later, patrol officers from the Rialto Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to the area of Linden Ave and 2nd Street. The officers conducted a felony traffic stop and took the driver into custody for auto theft related charges and the passenger for outstanding warrants without incident.

The Nissan was released to the happy owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in May 2004 at Power Nissan in Irvine, California.
