The owners of a Subaru Impreza discovered that their vehicle had been stolen from its parking space near the University of Colorado in Boulder and contacted the campus police department.
A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

A short time later an Aurora Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Subaru to the area of 6th and Chambers in Aurora where the vehicle was found abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Impreza in November 2003 at Hassett Lincoln Mercury in Wantagh, New York.
