The owner of a 2015 Land Rover Evoque contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen after someone took the keys of the vehicle from his residence.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Land Rover to a residential neighborhood located near the 240th block of Davidson Street in Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover Evoque in July 2015 at Land Rover San Diego in California.
