The owners of a 2007 Audi A4 contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen in the city of Oceanside.

The Oceanside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi.

A short while later officers from the Carlsbad Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Audi to the 6000 block of Paseo Campo in the city of Carlsbad.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi A4 in December 2009 at Miramar Volkswagen-Audi in San Diego, California.
