The owner of a Ford F-350 Series pickup truck contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the unincorporated area of San Diego.
The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, officers from the National City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to a residential neighborhood located in the 100 block of West 15th street in National City.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-350 in February 2004 at Pearson Ford in San Diego, California.
