This Chevrolet Silverado pickup was stolen during the night from the owner’s residence located in the 19900 block of SE Washington Court in Gresham. When the theft was discovered it was reported to the Gresham Police Department who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Just ten minutes later, a Portland Police Bureau officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the pickup to NE 103rd and Fargo in Portland where it was located abandoned and undamaged. The current owner purchased the pickup as a used vehicle and was not aware it was equipped with LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in this Chevrolet Silverado in February 2003 by Moreno Valley Chevrolet in California.
