The owners of a 2016 Toyota Rav-4 contacted the Pleasanton Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated they stopped at the post office and ran inside to get their mail. Unfortunately they left the Toyota running and when they came out the vehicle had been stolen.
The Pleasanton PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Less than 30 minutes later officers from the Pleasanton PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the 6000 block of Johnson Drive, which is a commercial area, and found the vehicle parked and abandoned in a parking lot.

The victim was contacted and responded to pick up their Toyota.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Rav-4 in December 2015 at Livermore Toyota in California.
