The owner of a 2003 Hummer H2 called the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised he parked the H2 in the apartment complex parking lot located in the area of Pennsylvania and Constitution in the Northeast Area Command.

The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the H2.

Three minutes after the activation, an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen H2 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the H2 to the area of Coors and Blake.  The officer located the H2 parked behind a tire shop between a shed and a single wide trailer.  The H2 was not visible from the roadway.  Officers recovered the H2 and it will be returned to the owner.
