The owner of a 1989 Toyota Camry contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.   The owner stated the Toyota was missing from where he normally parks and locks it.  There were no signs of broken glass and the owner had in his possession the keys for the Toyota.

The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Approximately forty minutes after the stolen vehicle entry, officers from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota and found it abandoned.

The Toyota was recovered and was released to the owner making this the third time this vehicle has been successfully recovered via LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed, at the request of the original owner, in the Toyota Camry in February 1993 by Kramer Honda-Volvo in Santa Monica, California.
