The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the San Diego Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.
The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to the 2200 block of East 18th Street in the city of National City. One suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in July 1998 at Keyes Woodland Hills Honda in California.
