The owners of a 2008 Ford E series contacted the San Diego Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.
The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford to the 30300 block of Shadow Lane in the city of Vista. One suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford in October 2007 at El Cajon Ford in California.
