The owners of a 2003 Nissan 350 contacted the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.
The Santa Barbara SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short time later, patrol officers from the Ventura Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to the area of the 500 block of Ventura Ave. The officers conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.
The Nissan was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan 350 in June 2006 at Pacific Nissan San Diego in California.
