The owners of a 1996 Honda Accord contacted the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway by suspects unknown.  Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Minutes after activation, deputies from the SBSD Victorville Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Accord with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Honda to a residence located in the 13600 block of El Cona Drive and discovered the vehicle parked to the rear of the residence.  Deputies examined the Honda and located a back pack with identification inside. They made contact with three individuals at the location and identified the suspect who owned the back pack.  He was arrested and later booked for the theft of the Honda. The Honda was later released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in October 1996 at Honda of Pasadena in California.
