The owners of a 2005 GMC Yukon contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residential driveway.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC Yukon.

A short while later deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Yukon with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the GMC to a large apartment complex in the 17600 block of the Eastex Freeway. The GMC was stored pending owner notification.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Yukon in March 2005 at North County Jeep GMC in Escondido, California.
