The owner of a 1998 Honda Civic contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the vehicle as stolen from their apartment complex parking lot.
The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within five minutes of the stolen vehicle entry, officers from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda and found it unoccupied.

The Honda was recovered for the third time and was returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in October 1998 by Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance, California.
