The owner of a Honda Accord contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The Fresno PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

About four hours after the LoJack was activated, an officer from the Fowler Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Honda to vicinity of 6th and Modesto Streets in Fowler. The Honda was found unoccupied and abandoned on the side of the road in a residential area.

The Honda was recovered intact and undamaged; it was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in March 1996 by Herb Chambers Honda in Boston, Massachusetts.
