The owner of a 1999 Honda Civic called the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen from their residence. The owner went out to their Honda in the morning and found it missing from the driveway.

The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within a short time of the activation, a vehicle equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda. Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the Honda was tracked to a residential neighborhood parked in the yard of a residence. Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the occupant of the residence and he advised the Honda “just showed up in the yard.” The Honda was processed for evidence and subsequently recovered. The owner responded to the scene to take possession of his Honda.
