The owners of a 2013 Jaguar XF contacted the Sacramento Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated he was entering his Jaguar in a parking lot at 42nd Street and 8th Ave when a suspect approached him, displayed a gun and demanded his vehicle. In fear for his life the victim complied and the suspect drove off in the Jaguar.

The Sacramento PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jaguar.

Just 10 minutes later officers from the Sacramento PD and the California Highway Patrol Air unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jaguar with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Jaguar to the 2300 block of Stockdale Blvd. The officers observed the Jaguar abandoned and parked on the street.

The Jaguar was towed to be processed for finger prints and will be released to the owner when completed.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jaguar XF in November 2015 at Jaguar of Sacramento in California.
