The owners of a 2013 Honda CRV contacted the Beverly Hills Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda CRV.

A short while later officers from the Los Angeles Police Department 77th St Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Honda from Florence and Normandy to 54th and Vermont where they located the vehicle. A felony traffic stop was initiated and the sole occupant was taken into custody without further incident. The Honda was stored and later released to its owner. The suspect was booked for driving a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, a felony.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda CRV in April 2013 at Hendrick Honda in Daytona Beach, Florida.
