The owners of a 2004 Honda Accord contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Division to report that their vehicle was stolen. The Honda was parked in their driveway with the keys left inside.
The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short time later, the LAPD North Hollywood patrol officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of the 11700 block of Kittridge Street. The officers observed the suspect walking away from the stolen Honda carrying the license plates. The suspect was in possession of the keys for the Honda. The officers took the suspect into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.

The Honda was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in August 2008 at Galpin Honda in San Fernando, California.
