The owners of a 2008 Lexus GS350 contacted the San Jose Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated he stopped at a convenience store to purchase a few items and when he exited he was confronted by the suspect who indicated he had a gun and wanted the victim’s car. The victim in fear complied and the suspect fled with the Lexus.
The San Jose PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Less than 10 minutes later, officers from the San Jose PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to Lee and Scotts Streets where it was being driven. The officers attempted to stop the Lexus but the suspect fled. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot but was eventually taken into custody. This suspect was determined to be responsible for two other auto thefts. He was arrested and booked for Car Jacking and auto theft.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus GS350 in November 2007 at Lexus of Roseville in California.
