The owner of a 2007 Mercedes Benz E350 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence in the city of San Diego.
The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

A short while later officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to an underground second level apartment parking garage located near Rio Village Drive and Rio San Diego Parkway in San Diego.
