The owner of a 2008 Pontiac G8 contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Oceanside.
The Oceanside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Pontiac.

Within 28 minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Pontiac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Pontiac to a residential neighborhood located in the 4400 block of Ravillo Drive in San Diego. A traffic stop was made and three suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Pontiac G8 in April 2008 at Greiner Buick Pontiac GMC Poway in California.
